Today marked our seventh wedding anniversary. Unfortunately, there is no celebration to speak of this time. We spent the afternoon at the hospital, where Pete had fluid pulled out of his cyst. This time they pulled out 40 ml. After the procedure he went to sleep, he didn't feel well. He had a headache and felt nauseous.
Peto had been quite unwell since he arrived from Piešt'any - his ability to walk was literally zero. You would expect that after two weeks of intensive rehabilitation in one of the best centres in Slovakia, the opposite would be true. But the reality is that as long as there is something (cyst and tumor) pressing on important centers in Petya's brain, he can exercise all he wants, it probably won't move him to a state where he can walk on his own again. Rehab, or at least light physical exercises, are necessary so that his tendons don't shorten and decubitus tendons don't form.
After waking up, Peto is a little more spirited, more perceptive, and physically helps us with lifting after the fluid has been pulled out of the cyst. It has definitely helped at least a little. The question is, for how long?
